Ways of seeing

A blog that documents my addiction of buying vintage cameras, photographing them and providing a short description of each camera.

'The camera relieves us of the burden of memory. It surveys us like God, and it surveys for us. Yet no other god has been so cynical, for the camera records in order to forget.'
John Berger
Film: SX-70
Acquired: Car Boot Sale

Camera: Fischer Price Perfect Shot 110 Camera 3815
Film: 110

Comments: These days there are a lot of kids cameras about, but this thing has to be the high point of childrens photography. Designed like a view master it has two viewfinders and two handles, i cant believe that there isn’t some kind of secret hidden gems of photography by kids who had these. I got it at at a yard sale or as Im British table top sale, and they even gave me a 110 film with but Ive always been to afraid to try it.

Camera: Kodak Instamatic 304
Film: 126 Cartridge
Acquired: Carboot Sale
Comments: Produced between 1965 and 1969 the Instamatic 304 introduced the new flash cube system. The flash cubes would fit to the top socket which would rotate revealing the next side of the flash cube every time a photograph was taken. The camera was regarded as one of Kodaks more sophisticated Instamatic cameras.
